Blogmas Day One Hello December

Hello my lovelies,

Today is December first which means only one thing, well two things actually, the first is there is now only 24 days until Christmas and I still have shopping to do, but it also means Blogmas is now happens again. It only feels like yesterday that I was doing it for the first time and I have to admit I was rubbish at it. This year I promise to do better, it not feel free to have a go at me.

In this first post I'm going to talk about advent calendar, now growing up they changed quite a bit. When I was a toddler I remember having advent calendars that only had pictures in the back, which for a kid was ok. I can also remember having an advent candle which every night we would burn to mark off another day. Then the chocolate calendars came about, I remember one specific calendar I had it was a Barbie one with pink chocolate. I opened it on the first and no chocolate was in it. So I opened another door and again no chocolate was in it. So my mum went back to where she had got it and complained, as a sorry they gave us another one. We went home, and found all the chocolate had fallen to the bottom of the first calendar...oops.

Now you can get make up calendars, nail polish calendars any beauty calendar you can think which is amazing and what every beauty blogger wants. Now yesterday my wonderful sister came to visit and we her she bought my advent calendar, which she had personally made me. She purchased individual little gifts and made the boxes for them as well.

She's also used such sweet and vintagy card to make the boxes. I am having to stop myself from opening them at once I'm that eager to know what's in them lol. I will post daily on Instagram what I get in each one. Today I got some mini cupcake silicon cases and ey are so cute. I love baking but I hate having to throw the cases away as I see it as a waste. So having reuseabke ones is great.

What are you looking forward to this season?

Christmas

Hello my lovelies,   Yes I'm going to talk about the dreaded C word, not that word I hate that word, I'm talking about Christmas. As I write this post I'm getting snippets of Christmas songs in my head ranging from Nat King Cole and Dean Martin all the way to Michael Buble and Leona Lewis. I love Christmas, it's one of my favourite times of the year. Not only do I get to wear really comfy and thick jumpers, but I get to see all pretty sparkly decorations, eat loads of food (although I do that anyway, I'm going to be the size of a house come new year) and also spending time with my family. The one part I hate though is buying pressies, yes I know it should be fun, but when you have a family like mine and you have no idea what to get members and then you get a list of what they don't want, then it can get really challenging.    Now I'm normally one who loves a challenge, but when it comes to presents then I dispise it. Although this year I am hoping I have chosen good. I've spent all morning sat on the sofa browsing website to find the perfect presents for everyone. I've had a few I got a few weeks ago, delivered already I just need to wrap them somehow and then do the last bits and bobs and also I'm planning on making xmas cards. I bought loads of craft stuff to help me. Just need to browse Pinterest for ideas.   I just hope this year I don't have a seizure like I did some years back, although that was a funny year. Yes I may have lost a bit of my memory and laughed at my dad who told me it was xmas eve, but when it came to the presents the next day finding out what I had got people was fun lol   Do you like xmas? What do you love about it?

Halloween make up - Skeleton

Hello my lovelies,

Only one more day to Halloween. Now I'm not doing anything for Halloween, but I thought I would mess around with my make up and try and do my very first make up test, if that's what you call it.

So with out further ado here's my make up look. I apologise for the miserable look I was trying to go for menacing, didn't really turn out that way.

All I used for this look was Rimmel foundation in ivory. ELF HD face powder,  Mac black eyeshadow (can't remember the actual name) and also some eyeliner by maybelline. I used a beauty blender by the lovely girls at RealTechniques aka Pixiwoo. I posted this to my Facebook and the only critical advice I got was to use white face paint. Which yes I think is probably the best thing to use.

This was originally suppose to be Day of the Dead make up but I couldn't get the eyes right so I opted for a skeleton instead. When and showed my mum afterwards and she just said oh my god what do you look like? Then, when I said I was going to wash it off, she said well that was a waste. Which yes I agree, but I had so much fun doing it.

I would love to see your Halloween make up so either post in the comments, tweet me @RoseVintagechic or email me rosiesvintagechic@gmail.com or even Instagram it @RosiesVintagechic use the hashtag #rosiesvinatgechichalloween.

Blog mishap

Hello my lovelies,

Ok so this month I was hoping to post every day. I called it blogtober. Now it was going so well until I got a new app. I wrote -or rather type don't- out the posts and published them, never thinking to check that they had published. I go on it today and not one post since the Halloween make up post has published. I have then found out that the app has deleted all the unpublished posts. So peeved right now. I can't remember what I posted and it's nearly the end of October. Suppose I better try again for blogmas.

Seriously can you believe we are nearly at the end of the month. I have just finished work for the half term holidays or fall holidays if your from America or Canada. I can tell you it was a long half term but the next one will be even longer. See I don't break up until the 22nd December which gives me two days to do shopping, so think I better do some this week just to be on the safe side. I have an idea what to get people, it's just getting the gifts before xmas.

Anywho this post was actually meant as an explanation for why I haven't posted like I said I would. Hopefully this will post haha.

Blogtober - Halloween Make up

Hello my lovelies,

This post is all about Halloween make up. I've trawled Pinterest trying to find ideas in case you know I decide to dress up - highly unlikely- also you can find some amazing tutorials on Instagram and YouTube. Some are sweet ideas, some are scary and some make you think how on earth did they do that.

This is my fave one, it actually look like Simba. To do something like this must take a lot of time, patience and talent.

Again this must take time, patience and talent. Such a sweet and I would say simple design, but just look at the detail.

This one doesn't look too hard, but I can gauruntee that if I was to try it I would mess up somewhere along the lines.

I saw this one being done on Instagram yesterday and it had me mesmerised, so simple yet effective and to a degree freaky.

Now I've never seen the Saw films, but I know Jigsaw and this is flipping brilliant. I think I would try this first if I was to try and do make up for Halloween.

I love skeleton make up and this is amazing and beautiful at the same time. Pictures start to get very detailed and freaky from here on out.

More detail for the skeleton and even moved down on the neck which is not something I've seen very much with skeleton make up. I think it works well with the hair as well. Especially grey/silver hair.

This is just plain scary for me as I don't like clowns at the best of times (Thanks Pennywise (IT)). But this is also amazing, the amount of detail and dedication this must have taken is beyond anything I could do.

Finally this one, this is my fave scary look. It reminds me of a scarier Jack Skeleton from Nightmare Before Christmas. Two simple colours or shades if you want the technical term. Yet it looks complicated to do, which in turn makes it so damn effective. If I had the talent then this or one of the day of the dead candy skulls would be what I would go for.
