Spending Ban Update

Hello my lovelies,

As you know I decided to do a spending ban. I am happy to say I haven't spent a single penny on make up, clothes, accessories. However, I did spend money on my dog as she had to have an X-ray and also on my father for Father's Day. I am also going to have to spend money on my mother as it's her birthday in a weeks time.

Apart from that the only other thing I have spent money on is coffee when I have been out and that's it. Hopefully I can go to the middle of next month without having to spend just for the sake of it.

My next update will be at the month mark, where I will probably extend the ban if I find it easy to do another month.

Eeeek! I'm Not Allowed To Do What?!

Hello my lovelies, Yes I am finally doing the big spending ban. Now I've said sooo many times to friends and family that I will do one, but I've never really thought about putting the wheels in motion and actually doing it. That was until my bank statement came through, now along with the various iTune purchases of 99p and the Clarins purchases. I also had purchases to my local vet as my lovely doggie Summer has had two ops in the past two years and requires regular check ups and post op treatments. So these are going to take precedent over everything else.

Also as I am looking for work (and hoping to start my own business) I'm not really in the position to be spending money on things that I don't really need. I have more than enough make up to last me at least a year maybe two. So from now until 11th July (might extend) I plan on only buying what I need to buy, like my mums birthday present, Father's Day present and post op treatment for my dog oh and my rent as well. So that means no clothes, make up, hair products, accessories or useless food and magazines. There will be exceptions as I plan on having my hair cut soon and maybe go for the ombré look or maybe have highlights,

So anything in the above list that appears on my blog will be from before the spending ban started. I hope (fingers crossed) this means the blog will improve as I will have enough products bought before the ban to review. Rather than going oh I want that must review it and never actually getting round to reviewing it as I've been out and purchased another new product.

Have you done a spending ban? How did you find it?

Clarins Skin Consultation and Free Facial.

Hello my lovely dolls,

So over a month ago I was in debenhams and I get stopped by a member of the Clarins team, she offered me a free skin consultation and free facial. I thought it's free so why not! So I sit there and she looks at my face and asks me about my skin routine. Now I admit my routine was a lot to be desired. It was make up removing wipes, soap (yes I know sin), water, tea tree oil and that was it oh and moisturiser. She also asked me what it was I hated about my skin, to which I reply my pores and acne and oily/dryness.

Then she takes my make up off. I nearly cried as I never go out in public without make up unless it's for like 2 minutes to go round the shops for milk. So after she's removed my make up, she starts prodding my skins and running her fingers all over. Now I've always been told never touch your face as all the dirt will transfer. But don't worry she had used hand sanitiser so must have been ok, once all that is done and dusted she tells me my skin is really dehydrated. So she pulls out a catalogue type book and marks all the products she thinks I will need.

She then proceds to get all the products to show me how to use each one and explains to me how each one will improve my skin. The range she suggested for me is hydra quench, so that my face or rather skin becomes hydrated. After all the talk and showing me how to use the products - in the form of a facial - I get to chose my products. I first chose the foaming cleanser, toner and moisturiser, then I got given a free bag with body scrub and body lotion and I also got free samples of two types of face oil (lotus and blue orchid) I also got to chose four other samples so I chose a bronzer, which I haven't used yet, a lip gloss (review to follow), another type of moisturise which I used at night and beauty balm.

The extra products are from when I went back for my review which was last week and it had been a month of using the stuff and I am pleased to announce that my skin is no longer dehydrated. Yes that's right in a month or just over I have improved my skin hydration and I'm also please to say my acne has cleared up a lot since using the products. So I also got at this review a face mask and cleansing milk which to be honest since using has made me flare up I think I prefer the cleaning foam as it is used with water rather than just wiping it off like the cleansing milk. With this I also got another free bag (not pictured) I got anti wrinkle free gifts that I gave my mum to try. As well as a sample of eye make up remover, eye cream and their new tinted moisturiser (review to come.)

Also I am happy to say after the facial and skin consultation the lovely lady Katie even reapplied my make up for me so I could continue shopping. Apart from having my make up removed the other embarrassing thing was sitting in debenhams with people walking past and having a face mask on lol. Once she had reapplied my make up she even marked on the catalogue what products she used incase I wanted to purchase them at a later day. I think I will but maybe put them on my Xmas list first.

Now I don't want to scare you, but this was my face before I started using the products and changing my routine something massive.

Sorry about the quality the lighting and my iPad were rubbish. Now this is my face now!

Again sorry about the quality I do promise to take better ones in future, but the camera on my iPad was the only one available as my proper camera is charging.

So there you have it a massive improvement I think. I would love to hear your views on the Clarins range and any products that you have used.

Life post - a small ramble on "Friends"

So over the past couple of months, since being out of work I have noticed that my "friends" - not all of them but a close knit group - have started to exclude me from things. How do I know this? I hear you so, well there's this little thing called Facebook where they plaster it all over. If it's not checking in at a certain place it's tagging people in pictures as well as putting up statuses about how the night was awesome. Yes I know it shouldn't hurt, but it does I asked them why I was getting excluded and they said because you don't like the things we do, you don't like just sitting round someone's house you'd rather go clubbing. Yes I admit I do hate just staying in and yes I would rather go clubbing, cinema or out for dinner, the latter two they do without me as well.

Now before you say anything this group of "friends" are younger than me by two years and so should be able to go clubbing without leaving at midnight. I mean on my birthday I went clubbing and only three people came along, because the others didn't feel up to it, yet they all went out for another mates birthday clubbing a month before. This mate claims they only went clubbing to make me happy, I turned round and said well if you didn't want to go clubbing you didn't have to, I had another mate who's birthday it was the same day who was out clubbing I could have spent it with her instead.

Plus on my birthday I had one of them have a go at me for not wanting to do what they want, she didn't even say happy birthday can you believe that, the nerve! But anyways before I ramble further, it's safe to say that after much thought and negative feelings I decided to delete them thinking they would contact me asking why had I done it. How wrong was I, none of them have contacted me since, even my ex who I was on speaking terms with again has deleted me after spending a night out with the group again without me. When I asked him he turns round and says his Facebook is messing up, all well and good and I would have believed him if he hadn't have turned round afterwards and said 'my life has not and never will revolve around you' um we were a couple for nearly two years and he told me when I ended it that he don't want to lose me as I'm his world hmmm!

So yea so much for him growing up, so now I'm down five "friends" and to be honest I feel so much better as I'm not worried about what they are doing and if they are excluding me from things. I've got a more positive outlook on life (so far). If they want me back in their lives then they can contact me, I can't give two hoots anymore.

Sorry for the ramble just needed it off my chest a my family are sick of me going on about it. I think the moral of this post is, not to worry what other people think of you. If they want you in their life they will do whatever they can to keep you there. If not then it's their loss, you are a much better person without so called friends who do nothing but bring you down!

Have any of you had "friends" change on you and exclude you or just cut you out of their lives for no reason?
